CR Reader

What is a CR reader?  Well, we have an older analog x-ray system – the kind that prints x-rays on x-ray film.  But now with our hospital network, and the ability to look at images on the computer, we would like to digitize those x-rays.  Just like we look at the CT scan results on the computer, the CR reader converts the x-rays to digital so we can look at those on the computer.  And the quality is far better!

Another huge benefit is that we can store the digital images on a server, so we always have them!  No more lost x-ray films or patients leaving them at home.  We will have all the patients’ films readily accessible on the computer.

A CR reader and accompanying cassettes costs $24,000.  Consider taking on this project, and helping us buy this much needed piece of equipment!
