This Message just came in this morning, October 13, 2009, from Jacques Weber, our Swiss agent, faithful partner and Board member:
Hi,
My name is (uups I only have a number 135 933-3) but I am not a number. You'll discover what I am in a moment. This morning was a rude awakening.
Dew from above covered me as I was standing all night outside the construction company Waelti Ltd. Then came a twenty ton truck and lifted me off and transported me from sunny Emmental to Basel where I am being loaded on to a freight train tonight en route for Antwerp Belgium. No I am no longer the lonely container, now I have Hundreds surround me.
I am destined for MSC CONFIDENCE to be lifted on board and travel the high seas to the port of Djibouti. Will you pray me "through"?
Through many "toils and snares" especially the pirate-infested route along the Somalian coast.........
But read the name of my ship again!
I belong now to the Soddo Christian Hospital-the freight being paid till Djibouti and then must travel overland to Addis and on to Soddo.
My new master, the hospital bought me empty with seal for $2300.-- fit for one more and last journey - I am full with hospital goods for the new OPD Outpatient department. Yes - two doctors from Soddo decided on the items to be loaded. Though I am only half size (20 ft) i carry the bare essentials for the new OPD I am supposed to be arriving in Djibouti On November 19th in the port.
Best of all as an old container I will not be discarded upon arrival and unloading but will stand my ground in the continuation of the hospital wall - yes as one of many containers where nice plants will once hide my rusty skin.
Will you pray me through?
