2009 Year End Report
Dear Praying Friends:
2009 has been an amazing year. God is at work and has protected us during the year.
- Many new programs were started at the hospital:
- Over 5800 inpatient and 11,600 outpatient visit. Opportunities for our Chaplains and staff to "serve and not be served".
- 353 babies were delivered!
- Over 3000 surgeries
- We had patients from all over Ethiopia and even Somalia
- Two PAACS residents graduated, with one more scheduled in July 2010
- Two new full time ex-patriot doctors joined the other 150 member full time staff at the hospital, Dr Paul Gray and Dr Asle Aarsland, Anesthesiologist.
- Dr Harold Adolph and Bonnie Jo have traveled 1000’s of miles presenting at med schools the opportunity and needs in Ethiopia.
As the apostle Paul has told us we are to urge, encourage, remember, warn, call, teach, and beg Christians to stay faithful and to have the lost turn to Christ before it is too late.
God continues to bless His work of discipleship, evangelism, and compassionate medical and surgical care through a staff of 150 of His servants whose motto is Christ's - to serve and not to be served:
- We are still struggling without a clinic building
- We already need 2 more operating rooms and another Intensive Care Unit
- The laboratory needs enlargement and equipment
- We have critical equipment a new pump, well, and replacement of the septic system
- Besides two more wards we need further staff housing
