Located in the heart of Southern Ethiopia, Soddo Christian Hospital provides compassionate, high-quality care across a range of specialties — from surgery and maternity to pediatrics and radiology. Every treatment, every ward, and every operating room exists to serve our mission: to heal and make disciples in the name of Jesus Christ.
Our Facilities
Soddo Christian Hospital is a 171-bed teaching hospital serving thousands of patients each year. Our four wards — medical, surgical, maternity, and pediatrics — are supported by a full ICU and emergency department.
We also operate specialized optometry and dental clinics, alongside comprehensive outpatient services.
Our surgical department includes eight modern operating rooms, and our radiology unit provides digital X-ray, ultrasound, and a 16-slice CT scanner for accurate, timely diagnostics.
Every space — from the lab to the ICU — is designed to provide care that reflects both excellence and compassion.

Through our Patient Benevolence Fund, we make sure that even the poorest patients receive life-saving care — a tangible expression of Christ’s love in action.
Training & Capacity Building
As a teaching hospital, Soddo Christian Hospital is committed to raising up the next generation of African physicians. Through our partnership with the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS), we train surgical residents in both professional excellence and spiritual formation.
More than 80 surgeons have graduated from SCH’s PAACS program, now serving communities across Ethiopia and beyond. Each one multiplies the hospital’s impact — bringing healing, skill, and hope to places of great need.
Expanding Hope: The Hope Center
Construction is underway for the Hope Center for Women and Children, an expansion that will add 110 new beds and increase our capacity to care for mothers and newborns.
The Hope Center will provide maternity and neonatal services, including a NICU and additional space for labor and delivery. This project will allow us to meet the growing needs of women and children in Southern Ethiopia and offer care in the name of Christ to those who need it most.
With construction in progress and fundraising ongoing, we are trusting God’s provision to complete this vital project.
